The Old Folks Home

OESDOG you are truly welcome and you don't even have to be old. Your flowers & photos are gorgeous. Do you have an oes (old English sheepdog) ? Photos please!!!

Hello everybody! I just found this thread and managed to read the first 20+ pages before I had to skip to the end here at page 810. As I grow older, my attention span seems to grow shorter.

As for my qualifications -- I can reminisce about the entire decade of the 70's and anything after that. I don't think of myself as old although chronologically I guess I am, but heck, I'm still younger than dirt AND I'm 15 years younger than my DH so I always get a kick out of that. So, does that get me entry into this happy little group? I hope so because, like another BYC member posted much earlier in this thread, I'm allergic to children. Having to wade through their posts containing what passes for their idea of English is exasperating. It's also a bit frightening to be reminded that they'll be running things (or trying to) in a few years. Sheesh!

It is great to have you here!

Quote: ME TOO!!!!!! Don't know your timeing-- my plants are starting to go to sleep as winter is coming fast.

Quote: I think you have me mixed up with gryeyes, lol, though I would love to have more flowers at my place. I've decided as of today I need to move ALL thie chickens into comtained areas so I can have flowers again!! THey have eaten everything but my lilies. Which would require them to walk a little further than they like to stray.

I only just came across this thread - I am old can I join?

I bring flowers!!!!!!!!

Haahaaa-- I spotted that dog too!! Pic of my girl still the hallway wall-- been gone since the early 80's. What a bouncy dog!! lol OESDOG-- sure would love to seee more pics of your fluff ball.

Think I may have a chicken with bumble foot. I am very weak stomached so the surgery I've read about is not an option. Is there something else I can do? She has a scab that is very swollen and red around it in between her toes. The scab looking part is on the top, not bottom of her foot. She is not limping at all right now.

Um...yes I do...I plead CRS. And you are on my flower list. If it's getting too cold there, already, then I can send you some in the spring.

You can try soaking the foot hot soapy water--If it works you may wind up with pus coming out anyway.

After soaking, Put triple anti biotic ointmen and dress with vet wrap.

It is a Staff infection, which is hard to get rid of. You may need to get someone else to do the surgery.
