I'm watching the replay of the Celtic game and every time the player's shoes squeak Dottie and Cricket cheep back at them.

Quote: A few will squat when I look at her. THose are the easiest to pet, too as she stays put while I run a hand over her. OTherwise most of mine don't like to be touched. lol

Hey, I also have one that just started to lay..the last couple of days. I haven't tried to go near her yet, she's not been too friendly, but, she is coming around me on her own lately. Has anyone noticed that they usually..usually I say, get more friendly once they start laying? Or, just before they start?
The Pullets usually become friendlier when they get to Point of Lay. It helps that I do not have Cockerels with them. They are much more likely to Squat then.

It occurs to me that the above description might have terms that have only been seen on BYC. Of course this is BYC so we should understand what we are saying. I did post on a different thread that BYC is so big that it will make its own language. Not only that, there are so many members on here that BYC will change the language for all of poultry.

Yes it is really nice to reach in a nest and get ants all up your arm.

They are funny they fuss and squawk and peck anything that gets near. I have a red star that squawks and looks at me like I have really invaded her privacy when I raise the lid on the nest box to check the eggs. At first I thought she was settin.

Yes have you noticed how the new generation makes verbs out of nouns and makes up other words when there is a perfectly good word available. One that comes to mind immediately is the word gifted. You give gifts. You don't gift them.

Did you hear the lady talking about a certain national website that has been having problems? She was quoted as having said to the tech employees that she told them "to double down and give 150%".... if double is 150%, maybe that is part of the problem...
