I've never been in the air force, etc. but, a victim of 3 Beatles concerts when I was 16. I wondered why I could hear crickets even in winter. Duh, then I realized the sounds were in my ears not outside. I get static, electrical noises, buzzing, swooshing wind, it's funny tho I've gotten used to them in 50 years. They seldom bother me during the day because there is so much noise around in the world. Quiet evenings - I think I'm receiving messages from Mars. I just don't tell people anymore.

I just went through tests for this! I've had ringing in my ears for years, but nothing like lately. Oh boy, has the tech. come along. The tests showed that I have a considerate less amount of fluid in my left ear. So, that would explain the ringing, the loss of hearing in that ear...and...the thing that has been bothering most...walking like a drunk at times..and nope, haven't been drinking. So, guess what the brain does when there is a problem like this? Yep, compensates. My eyes have been doing things I didn't even realize. Not only have I been walking like a drunk, but my eyes look .. well..wasted.

Nice ey? My eyes have been trying to make up for what my ears can't, by me doing things with them, and my walking to compensate what the loss of fluid in my ear can't do. I now notice it. I keep my eyes down a lot. In fact, I do an exercise at night when it's dark, looking up, because light hurts my eyes now. Boy, did those eye muscles hurt when I did that at first. When I would bend over for something, I would keep my eyes at a straight level, I wouldn't look up especially. All sorts of things I was doing with my eyes. So, there is therapy..not sure it's doing any good. I get real dizzy at times. It comes and goes. The noise? They suggest getting something that will give you what they call a grey noise. Buy one of those special effect things like, water falls, or ha ha..crickets.. or soft music..ocean sound. I don't need it..I have a snoring husband. :) I've gotten used to it..sort of.
