Notice the straw in the glass of adult beverage?

(Yes, someone assisted me with getting into - and later, out of - my costume.)

Search for "chicken quilt block" or "hen quilt block" (etc) on ebay.

You have to keep looking - sometimes there's a lot to choose from, right now there's only a couple things.

As this was a straitjacket, I was going to choose something "crazy" for the front, like:

... but we deemed it to "frilly" for Appropriate Linda Attire. Although it still makes me giggle to look at it.

LOL I'm not the frilly sort , but this is darling.

Hey how are you doing these days??

I'm not the frilly kinda girl, either, but that one just spoke to me as CRAZY and I loved it.

I'm okay, I guess. Still sickish, but not anywhere close to as bad as I was 3 weeks ago. The tired is the worst part, I think. I get home from work and do the minimal amount of chores to keep all the animals alive and then for the most part languish around the house until I decide it's acceptable to go to bed. Still have a cough, but that's it other than the tired. Cant' complain, except my productivity has majorly tanked.

It's a busy time at work, too. I've got performance appraisals to do and since it's the start of a new fiscal year there's a bunch of stuff to do for that. Plus not everyone at work has been playing well in the sandbox together. I've been working 10 hour days, plus some at home when I absolutely have to. Just got off a 7 day stretch, too.

My sister lassoed me into an online quiltathon, which I'm already 3 steps behind on (haha!). I just forced my neighbor into doing it along with me (hey, that's how I got into it) since she's an experienced quilter and I'm... not (my forte is making straitjackets... never tried anything as precise as quilting) so that's help right next door, and she needs some "adult" time away from the kids so hopefully it'll be beneficial to both of us. It's at http://www.stitchedincolor.com/2013/10/penny-patch-beginners-quilt-along.html if you want to join, too (no forcing). I'm at the "choose your fabric" stage. In fact, my sister chose the fabric, I just chose which shipping method I preferred in the online store. I've got the iron on right now and I've ironed 4 fat quarters before I decided to sit back down and see what was on BYC.

And that's my last 3 weeks in a nutshell.
