The Old Folks Home

HEY, WOLFIE!! Great to "see" you! Welcome back!

Thanks for the invite. I enjoy quilts. I prefer looking at them to making them though. Lots of work invested in q quilt. I knit socks as my thing. Been too busy to do that for the last few years-- like since getting chickens!!

I'm not adding to my work load right now-- winter is rolling in fast. Yikes it is already Nov 1st. THe firewood bins are still empty and the drive is full of chunks of an old 3 foot wide maple that was dumped here weeks ago. TOmorrow is last day of soccer---YEAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.

Butchered 3 turkey hens 2 days ago. Fit perfectly into the roasting pan. Canned 7 qt of meat; then stewed the bones and picked the meat and made 7 qt of soup. Boy was that easy-- ate one jar for dinner tonight.

Resting is the best thing-- read a book, eat some chicken soup, have SO take over some of the chores. ANd slap those kids up the side of the head that can't play nice in the sand box. SHeesh.

OH MY G88 your dealing with this site on a dial-up? My hats off to you!!

Patience. That is all it takes, Patience. Gives me time to think, too!! lol

WOuld love Fios, but too rediculously expensive. I don't have cable or satilite TV either-- available channels change with the cloud coverage. All due to those stupid boxes since going digital. Yeah, someday. Just got a cell phone a year ago.

I really do need to upgrade everything don't I ? lol

Sounds like you have been busy. I got the firewood brought in and stacked the morning I got sick, so at least that's not weighing on me. We got a pellet delivery yesterday, so should be good until January/Februaryish. Gotta do the roosters this weekend, probably tomorrow since we're supposed to get snow on Sunday. What's your soup recipe?

BF has been doing the majority of the chores - laundry, cooking, cleaning up, etc. I'm grateful for that.

Unfortunately, I'm expected to act more mature than everyone else... so no slapping allowed.

Got all my fat quarters ironed, but I flaked out on the cutting. Maybe tomorrow. Off to bed.

I don't think so, <BG> I live too far out of town to get Cable and we (DW and me) like NASCAR so I do have Sat. TV (when it's not raining too hard). I got a Track-fone 2 years ago when DW took a road trip, it is a P.I.T.A.!! but I can call for help if needed,or be called, so I guess all is good. Nice to find another (don't need new stuff) person on here!!

i use a 6 inch generic phablet from amazon and the $50 all you can eat plan from net 10. the phone is dual sim so i have a philippine sim in one slot to get messages from bernie and mrs oz and a net10 sim in the other slot.

its fantastic, cheap and versatile and no commitment
