Could you imagine her shock when the truck showed up to deliver a metric ton of wheat?

Alibaba is a fun site. It is a clearing house for mostly chinese goods. I found a supplier for pre-mix vitamins, minerals and trace elements for chicken feed as I started to blend my own - huge savings on the blended feed over premade.

Anyways, the minimum I could buy was 100kg but I ended up hetting 5kg free as a sample!! Just paid shipping.

Quote: Mine get commercial pellets, and lots of kitchen scraps. I can't walk out side with a bowl with out every chicken running to meet me. TOday they feasted on lots of scraps, tomorrow I have more for them. Bananas, apple cores, nuked carrots, leftover sandwhich crusts, . . . with 2 kids she must have food like that to give to the birds. My birds get out side when the sun is up. Used to be after 2nd child was on the bus, now it is after the 1st one is on the bus.

Maybe they can bury her in it.

Mine get lots of scraps, too, but she was hoping that they could free range all winter and just feed themselves without her having to put in any money or energy (or scraps). Yeah, they'll scratch up the 3 feet of snow to eat the luscious grass hiding under there.

Our chickens growing up were fed that way too. Family of 6. We did toss out a grain mix that my Dad made up each morning for them but the rest of the time it was free range and scraps.

let them free range in snow in MAINE, all winter- yep I knew she was thinking that. Maybe they would fly away from home and be saved by some nice person - like SCG. What a piece of work that woman is. They'd be better off if she just eat them before they waste away to nothing.
