The Old Folks Home

so much activity - puppies and bunnies.

congrats to the new mothers.

I am just back from a busy trip to the Philippines.

My birds are doing well. I am waiting for the Heritage RIR and barred rocks to start laying. I was hoping to get eggs this week but maybe we will be able to set some at christmas.

just a few pics

The three little pigs got their tetanus and Rhinoshield vaccines as well as a ID tag. They are eight weeks old and growing so fast.

This is Caprino - the 6 month old 97% Nubian buckling. He, along with Feta and the local goats was deloused and wormed.

We will sell off a local doe on Tuesday.

Bernie and a doeling from our pygmy local goats

Motza following her tetanus shot and invermectin pour on. Her lice infestation was gone in 24 hours. Amazing

OZ the gang looks a lot happier than I did when getting my tetanus shot. Motza is so cute and the goats have such shiny coats- the climate must agree with them.

indeed

Goats really do well there

The young Nubian buckling came from a concrete floored pen and fed chaffed napier grass and a local legume tree called Ipilipil (luecaena glauca) and is adapting to grazing. I am supplimenting his feeding with ipilipil leaves and some copra meal/rice bran mix until he maintains growth without it.

The guy I planned to buy 2 75% Nubian doelings from flaked but says we can make the sale happen at Christmas.

Cynthia, that mom sure does look tuckered. Cute pups though, and adorable full grown dogs. BF's been wanting to get a Newfie but I'd rather get a cow.
Or a pig.

Motza's ears are delightful!

We were unable to get Caramel bred this cycle. BF's mom "volunteered" to take her up next time if I had to work.

Puppy sounds going on here. We had puppies! Mom is ours, A Golden Retriever. Dad is pure Standard Poodle. My Golden has white on her..yes, she is pure. Happens once in a while, we didn't mind, so took her. She's a love. She had 7 pups, one was still born, so 6 babies. 4 girls, 2 boys. I am sure glad she didn't have them in the middle of the night. She had her first around 5:30, and her last around 8:45. Good girl.

No golden colors! There are 4 blacks. Two boys two girls. Then there is a chocolate color,
then a light silvery brown color. Very pretty. Will be fun to see which ones get the curlier coats.

She's tuckered, I'm tuckered. Even though she did all the work..mostly. Had to break a few
bags of water. She did good. Fast too.
They are adorable! Congrats

Cynthia--7 pups!! You will have your hands full of lovely puppy sweetness. Wish we lived closer-- I would buy one. Momma looks like she is a pro.

Ox-- love the 3 pigs = they look very healthy. I am using sulfer powder as an alternative for ivermectin. I keep both on hand as ivermectin isn't always as effective as it used to be here in the US.

SCG-- sorry you didn't get your girly to destination this time. You might rather prefer kidding a little later when spring is a little more sprung.

They look better all fluffed up..like a chick..lol Mom looks better too.

SCG..a cow, or a pig? I would rather have a horse. Or even a goat. Can't really ride any more, but I sure love horses. I think the small goats are darling though.
