I would love to get one good snow (defined as enough to build snowmen that don't have pine needles or mud all over them) per year. My boys, 16, 14 and 13, have never built a decent snowman, sledded, or been able to tunnel through snow, EVER in their lives! They have never even seen snow that covered the ground for a full day or more.

Oz, my daughter is headed for Thailand, Laos, Cambodia and Vietnam for 3 months. I'm surprised she isn't visiting the Philippines.

Those 4 countries have common borders and they are situated along the Mekong river. I have a friend that operated a radio relay station in Thailand for the Army during the Vietnam War. He said there were people that operated a sort of ferry service across the Mekong to Laos. They liked to go over for the French wine and bread. He said that the price to return was higher than the price to go over.

So come on up and visit Maine! If you leave now you'll be able to help me shovel the 14 inches coming tonight. Be sure to fly into Augusta State Airport, so you'll get the pleasure of the 10-man Cessna experience.

I'm buying my sister and oldest niece plane tickets to come visit in January/February. They have no idea their chariot is going to be a Cessna. I think my niece will really like it. My sister... not so much.

Yes, six more posts and we will have 10,000 posts. Do any bells ring or anything like that. I see some of the threads that are boring but this one is always interesting. I have enjoyed meeting all of you on this thread. I think part of the interest is our age. I am occasionally teased at work about having stories for everything. I tell that if you have been around as long as I have and been as many places you have to accumulate some stories.

Wisher in 2000 I lost my mind and agreed to work in another office in Dayton Ohio in January for 2 months. When I was leaving I was driving my usual pickup truck and I noticed that I had an empty ice chest with me and the ground was covered with snow. I took the lid and scooped the cooler full of snow and sat it in the back of my truck. When I got home I stopped by my daughter's house and gave it to her 2 children that were about 4 and 6 years old and had never seen snow. They had a real snow ball fight and after that when I started to Dayton even in July they would say Papa bring us some snow back.

I use a snowblower now. Takes HOURS!!!! In my truck, it was less than an hour for any storm.Oh well, I love the outdoors and the snow and the tracks, and singing birds. . .

I'm too old to take crap from people. While at a cub scout meeting last week , I was standing in line with my son, 10, to visit Santa to ask for nerfguns( he has MANY already) and candy ( rolls eyes) and two kids behind me were fooling around. THey bumped me once and I let it go. THen they bumped me hard, and I turned around addressing the 2 boys kindly but to the point. I ignored the mother, who apparently wouldn't say anthing to her kids, or perhaps they were not her kids IDK. I didn't get bumped again though.At the same event I observed a woman that I know is a teacher. I do find it appalling that teachers are also some of the worst mothers not demanding good behavior.

Hi Ho Hi Ho, I'm off to shovel snow %$%#^*. Darn snow and wetness keeps shrinking my clothes, hope I can still get into snow pants, etc or manage without getting the snaps, snapped.

I'm running on empty - no ice cream for fuel

. This will be first run with more snow intervals throughout the day.
