THAT day I spend in front of the TV!! THe greatest 2 minutes in sports!! Visited Louisville once, even picked the winner but hadn't placed a bet. Darn!! Even got to see Secretariate live and in person!!
I am officially envious LOL. Every year they play the video of him winning the Belmont, and the stretch run makes me weep each and every time. One of the greatest performances of all time.

Several years ago I picked Big Brown but did not place a bet. A coworker did and was very pleased I had mentioned him to her. This year I picked Mucho Macho Man to win the Breeders' Cup and again had not placed a bet. Didn't matter, I had been following him since the Derby preps the year he ran in the Triple Crown races, and I was so pleased to see him win this race. Great story, great trainer, first woman trainer to ever win the Breeders' Cup Classic.
Nijinky II was brought out too--his progeny won more than Big Red. Stud fee was $120K.

Portland Head Light

If you look in the background of this picture you can make out another lighthouse with the base covered in frozen spray.

I went to lovely Portland today, which was 20 degrees warmer than central Maine. Apparently 20 degrees is the new temperature at which I have to take off my jacket or sweat.

Came home to find my showgirl's butt covered in poo and goo and other unmentionables and her huddled under the nest boxes. Brought her inside, performed a poo- and goo-ectomy on her bottom and then...

I blow dried a chickens butt.

I had lovely photos of Cape Elizabeth/Portland Head Lighthouse with the frozen ocean spray on the rocks to share... but I just spent the past hour doing the above and now my treadmill calls.

When I first read this, I though you had gone to Portland Oregon....Much warmer there....

SCG has to get her exercise on. We are planning another trip down to the Kanab area around the beginning of May. We did this hike last year

We want to go further (but not exactly higher) than this!

SCG lives to pose by signs like this so you have to be ready to go just about anywhere!

If your kids bite, growl and lunge at me, then we'll need to talk about housing them with the goats or at a kennel.

Nah, I want to live to pose by warning signs on trails about how you can plummet to your death if you're not careful. I had a grand time with Dsqard in Zion and Bryce last year and Rhonda the virtual iFit trainer on my treadmill has been trying to kick my butt so DiDi doesn't. Once I figured out how to use it properly (I might have started with the hardest workout by accident) I'm enjoying it, and I've been trying to do two 20 minute programs each night (that I don't shovel snow).

Cricket just crowed! OMG...it was the cutest thing. I guess he's older than we all thought he was. Now I have three roosters crowing, well - one who sounds like a squeaky toy - and only 5 hens. I wish I had a magic wand so that I could make the babies grow faster. I may have to get a few hens to relieve the tensions here.

now there is the right attitude: get more hens instead of eating extra roos!!!
