Yes, I used to raise Persians back in the 80's. We tried hard for a dilute. I think I do see some cream on this ones chest.

Cream in place of the orange, blue in place of the black, and of course the white. Tortoiseshell cats usually don't have white. And of course are always a girl too.

Blues are blues. If it has white, then it's a bi color...blue and white. That was a fun time. We showed ours too.

No idea what she is. I went to the shelter and sat down in the cat room, and she affixed herself to me, and pushed all the other kitties away. I wasn't looking for another cat, but halfway home I turned around and went back for her. I think she might be part siamese just because of the "PROW" sound she makes but other than that... no idea.

In horses we use crosses too, from sanctioned bloodlines, and it is included on the pedigree after DNA verification.

Talked to a fewllow today who said his friends line of silver laced wyandottes went back to 1957. Would loved to have talked to that person. Wonder if he ever out crossed and if so to what?

I have a Silver Campine X EE that I am considering crossing with my Urch birds. She is colored like a SC only has way more white than she is supposed to have. The Urch line has some issues with their backs being too narrow and being somewhat convex, but that little hen has the broadest, flattest back you have ever seen. I am thinking that if I breed her with the Urch cock, some of the offspring may have her back. Then I would take those back to their father and see what will happen. Also, if there are some cockerals produced that have nice backs, I could take them back to the Urch hens and see what that produces!

Thought of you today when I looked at about 10 golden campines --- not one silver, not one-- at the Northeast Congress.

Ugh. I missed most of the last week thanks to foul/fowl back incident (lifted waterer to clean, back cried foul, you get the gist) and elected to catch up here first - so glad I did. I do not understand these things, and perhaps that is for the best.

Glad to see two members return who had been gone some time before I subscribed to this thread. Isn't it interesting how we start following people who don't know we are doing so, and begin to feel as if we know them, when they haven't the first idea who we are? LOL Internet Effect I guess.

Hope everyone has a peaceful night. Tomorrow morning at 7 we are going to look at, possibly purchase, 6 6x12 chain link panels, which will complete the runs we need and leave us with a bit of extra to build a growout/isolation enclosure. If they are in good shape it is a deal at $300 for the 6 panels. We are already planning as if we have them LOL.
