Your licence will not come into play. No medications will be dispensed (apart from narcs everything is otc anyway) as we will do screenings for cataracts and eye glasses. Health professionals come over from usa all the time and perform surgery and such. We wont be them. We will also have local lisences with us. As a pharm you have no indemnity.

Its a wonderful way to interact with people you would normally not get an opportunity to otherwise.

When my wife was in Spain she needed to be treated for Salmonella poisoning. It was all done at the Pharmacy, which was like a Doctors office.

The American Pharmacist Association really needs to get working on better collaborative practice agreements which would allow for some of this. We're unique in the federal government which recognizes pharmacists as independent practitioners like a PA or NP. Meaning - we can see patients and write/discontinue/adjust prescriptions/labs/consults/etc within a scope of practice that we've been granted based upon training.

We don't diagnose, but we are "drug experts" and can help relieve some of the appointment load from other primary care providers within our scope.


I would like to see more of that, and it sounds like CVS might be trying to move in that direction.

We got them for $35.00 each as upgraded local goats (25% imported) at 8 months
