When I took the RCom apart for cleaning after that first hatch, I examined the water system and found that one of the tiny little tubes had been plugged, so water wasn't getting from the reservoir to the sponge. Worked great after I gently ran a pin through it. I'll include checking those tubes as part of each between-hatch maintenance now. There is no way that I can tell to get at them without taking it completely apart. Glad I have fine strainers in my sink, though--that is one tiny part that could go down the drain really easily!
Ok, so who can tell me how to quote and include the quote in the quote? Also, I can't change font sizes or colors. When I click on those tabs the dropdown lasts a second and disappears. You click on Quote, then highlight and delete whatever part you don't want to include in your response.
Very happy to have you with us![]()

I am very interested in the Spanish breeds, though, and ChickenCanoe's excellent story about the day he received his first shipment of Pene chicks will live in my memory forever. That was an outstanding read![]()
I can't take the heat and I really feel for Texans in summer.Whine....oops sorry I should not be jealous or whine because in the high summer here we have 78 and love it..It will just take awhile to get here. Love that you get to plant @ this time of the year. I am just dreaming for now. I love all members (that are not toxic) of the nightshade family..yummy. Nice set up that you have there.
Nice setup.
These are a few pics of my outside run and a small peek inside the greenhouse. The young girls like to play in their 'baby coop' but have free run of the greenhouse if they want..just now they are both in the little coop. the big girls have been covered on 3 side for wind, rain and snow protection. they have access to a 'sun yard' at the end of the run but don't use it much..they don't like to get wet..lol or snowed on. Now that they are all the same size I plan on putting them all out into the big run. I cannot wait to get my greenhouse back to start planting. There is Percy the fierce looking out of her little coop..lol
We have another week or so of below freezing weather coming too. Uggh X2/ At least the snow is gone (for now)....
In other news the warm front that came through this weekend and gave us a giant melt is over. Back to sub-freezing for the rest of the 10 day forecast. Only 2 of those days are predicted as snow.![]()
I have to say I'm glad I got my flu shot... two of my friends were in the hospital this weekend with it. Uggh.
Trouble is, we get to 110 as well as -10. Rough climate to select a chicken breed. My girls would like to be munching grass clippings too, but they would end up with a snow cone at this point. lol. The good part is we have never seen 110 ever..and I rarely have to water the lawns. I am waiting as patiently as I can for Spring. I love the smell of fresh cut grass. Oh I can hardly wait.
You own a sweater?Yeah, it sucked that day this winter I had to wear my sweater
Happy Birthday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!... OH! And tomorrow is my birthday!
Dang it! I hate that you didn't get pics! I would have loved to see them. How did it go? I mean, if it had happened, how would it have gone?
