I, for some reason, don't like to use things like OMG and LOL. Maybe I feel like more of a typist than a texter but I just looked at the weather forecast. OMG. We're going down to near zero a couple nights next week. I feel like a wimp since I saw this morning that Minneapolis has had 45 days below zero. 10th most on record - so far.

We're just to their east and we got them beat. We are about to break our record all time for the most nights below zero in one winter and today we never got above zero (another record) and will break the low record tonight (chance of hitting maybe -30) and another record cold day tomorrow. Boy, I just feel soooooooooooooooooooooo special

Did I mention our 4+ feet of snow not counting the drifts??? Our fourth of July is probably going to be a ski party, as in snow skiis.

I have been using brass door hinges that I get from the ReStore (Habitat for Humanity) for .50c each. They have some paint on them, but it can be buffed off. I don't bother, it's a chicken pen.

I sympathize. We'll be subzero the next 4 out of 5 nights. We still have a ton of snowbanks and where there aren't snowbanks we have inches of ice. I put out salt on it, but it melted and then refroze into a really smooth surface that would make a zamboni operator proud. Even with my crampons it's dangerous out there. At least there's only 2 days of snow coming up in the next week. I am looking forward to it because the snow gives you some traction on the ice.
I signed up today for my hunter's safety course so I can get my hunting license this year, and hopefully get a moose permit!!

Wisher where is that store? We come up to T-town to shop pretty regularly. I have never seen that store. We did have a dirt cheap store here in Demopolis that we shopped in once in awhile because the got building supply stuff in once in a while that we wanted or needed. But when ever we need to shop really we come to T-town. Because there is nothing but a piggly wiggly and a dollar store here. lol

It is just off I359 at Exit 1. I wouldn't think there is enough good buys there to justify a special trip, but I have bought those hinges there three time in the last month! They have lots of junk, but occasionally, there are great deals.

I have never been to Ireland and probably will never be able to go, but I love to watch all the shows I can about Ireland as that is where so much of my family came from.
From what I have seen it is a beautiful place

My two horse vets are from Ireland-- men with pony tails. We laugh about sheep herding stories too. Complete with bending over and a ram smacking his uncle down the hill. lol I could listen to either of them all day. Love the braugh.

I rather enjoy staying home-- once a year my DH takes the kids camping and I get to stay home alone for a whole week, just me and the animals. Love it.

This group rocks, I just have to say. I know the grammar is awful, but it does.

DH just read me an ad about something called Parrot Flower Power that sends information to your phone or other device about moisture, fertilizer, sun intensity, and other things, when poked into the soil in your garden. Nice, but what ever happened to plain old observation?

ChickenCanoe, at least it was in a good way. Funny how someone else recognizing how special our kids are, can make us weep in an instant. Really looking forward to the photographs.

I set 92 eggs last night. Scares the heck out of me, but I know only 33-50% will make it to the hatcher, some were shipped and a few more than half were delivered to me at work by someone who lives well West of me, on bumpy roads, and no wrap around the eggs. I delivered some eggs the same way last year and had dismal results, now when I sell locally, if I have to drive to deliver, I wrap the eggs as if I was shipping them - bubble wrap the eggs and tape the carton around them.

Oh yeah - ChickenCanoe - cull some of your NYD chicks means sell them to others? Need to shrink the miles between Pueblo and St Louis. Kidding - this year - Penes are on my list for next year. I will be stalking you and Hangtown Farms next spring LOL. (whoops - I mean ha ha ha!)
