Bunny, that invitation is at least better than the ones my mother gets from local funeral homes about funeral planning addressed to my father. He has been dead for nine years now.

I bought some Speckled Sussex and four mystery chicks at TSC last week. I think they are so stinkin' cute!
My granddaughter wanted some more chicks. She loves the little ones best she says. I got 4 Silver Laced Wyandottes and 3 Australorp pullets. I showed her a picture of the Wyandotte hens and she said oh boy zebra chickens. She is anxious to see them with black and white feathers.

Kids just have such a wonderful imagination "Zebra Chickens" I wonder what they would look like.

I have 15 Speckled Sussex coming in May. They are very pretty and large birds which I like. I like the Wyandottes also it's just they are not large enough birds for my needs right now. I have a granddaughter coming for a few days and she loves to play with the baby chicks. I have plenty for her to play with.

Anybody want to try to explain this? I just got a card in the mail inviting me to a complementary "Leprechaun Luncheon" at a local assisted care facility. Hang on, guys, I may post on the "Old Folks" thread, but I ain't ready for the retirement home just yet!
maybe they are trying to bring in the entertainment. lol

Geez-- they need to update their mailing list!!

Quote: I love my SS-- though I was under the impression that the SS variety is smaller than the other sussex varieties . . . ?? Each developed separately is my understanding. I only have poor quality birds so that is no help-- my info is from reading an old book published in early 1900's by a top breeder and club prez in England. I keep my SS because I love them!!

Quote: lol, Bet she will use them-- when at home!!

Since we are on the subject of death, dying and such . . . can I ask for info on what to consider for life insuance. Dang, this is making me feel old!! Have put it off for years . . . .pm me if you'd rather. I'm in over my head here.

Dh went to a funeral yesterday . . .used to be funerals for the grandparents generation, now it is the parents generation. . . . Lord where did the years go . . .?
