I should have added Andalusians to my list of breeds - I have a nice trio.

I have had bad luck with Basques - the last shipment got to the Phils OK but all were clear.

The fertility has been pretty good on mine the last month or so.

I never thought about using polish when they are chicks.  

 It's not just a chick thing...adults seem to prefer the pampering too...but can we afford to keep them in the style they have gown accustomed to?

I'm sorry Bunnylady, no offense, but I gotta share my pictures of my babies that I just got from Wisher last night! 9 Easter Eggers and 6 Black Orpingtons! My first ever chickens!

And wow Oz! Paradise Island is really coming along! I'm so jealous of all the fruit trees and exotic veggies! We will have to definitely plan an OFH field trip one day! I personally would be willing to stay in a tent on the beach and I'll work in the garden or tend chickens! :-D

Found a pecked chick in the brooders at my favorite feed store yesterday. They are very attentive but had been very busy. She is an Ideal 236. Ideal hatchery version of Leghorn cross super white egg layer. I took her to the front and got asked to take her. They really don't have the means to treat and separate her. Soooo now I have a very LOUD single chick that doesn't really fit my program. I have 5 wk old barnevelders in the outside baby pen and marans hatching in 4 days. It will have to work itself out because this old softly will keep her.
