Getting back on topic

here is a C&P from my thread

Another busy week at CocoBeach Farm.

The gardens are doing well.

The local tomatoes have begun to flower.

The experimental half rows of Kale, Collards and Romaine Lettuce are at the 1st leaf stage with the Swiss Chard just sprouting.

Sunday last week saw the sowing of corn and baby bush lima beans into rows.

The nursery has several varieties of tomatoes sprouting along with Anaheim peppers.

All the imported tree seedlings are doing well.

Aljay has mixed the first 12-15 cubic feet of compost, combining saw dust with animal manures.

The goal will be to end up with four compost piles that can help us add around a cubic yard of compost a month to our gardens.

We have planted Marigolds Asters and Zinnias.

The Dahlia bulbs, along with Cannas and Callas are all breaking through.

In the nexrt couple of weeks we are getting a delivery of 8 cubic meters of 8-14" river rock to begin shaping our gardens

Two years from now, CocoBeach farm will not be recognizable.

I went into one of my favorite hardware stores today. They had recently expanded into carrying horse supplies, and my usual source is currently out of hay. I'm afraid I never got to ask about the hay - I had to get out of there, QUICK! They had cheepies!

drumstick diva, years ago I had an aunt that bred champion poodles. She marked her puppies that way too. That's where I got the idea. Small world.

I mark the chicks nails that I think are girls at a certain age..early. Pink polish.

It's not just a chick thing...adults seem to prefer the pampering too...but can we afford to keep them in the style they have gown accustomed to?
