Funny as it may be, this guy is almost 18 months old, so he should have it all figured out by now. I think part of the problem is that he's a pure cornish and awkwardly shaped, trying to mate women "the wrong size" for him.

My Pita Pinta took a bit to get that all figured out too. He is doing great now though!



The mottled chicks are pita pintas. The other two are CCL X Crele Pene Olive Eggers!

I finally got my second batch of chicks out in the coop/run today! I divided it in half, very hodge podge, but for free, and put my older chickens (four months old) in half and the new babies (almost six weeks old) in the other half. The babies are so happy to stretch their little wings!

I finally got my second batch of chicks out in the coop/run today! I divided it in half, very hodge podge, but for free, and put my older chickens (four months old) in half and the new babies (almost six weeks old) in the other half. The babies are so happy to stretch their little wings!

They are the calmest and friendlies Large fowl breed I have hatched yet. They are smart and good foragers. They also hatch well and are very good layers. So far they do well in the heat here too.

The Cockerls get big fast and are very tasty.

Just googled Pita Pinta and Wikipedia said something, well, odd.... that they are consistent layers of cream-colored soft eggs.

Soft eggs? Did I miss something in the translation?

The eggs are cream colored and smooth.

Translation is a problem with Pita Pintas--everything is in Spanish including the Spanish Standard for them.
