The Old Folks Home

@Bunnylady No, cooking would take out all the beneficial refined bacteria based substances from it. Instead it is to be served at freezer temperature.

@dsqard Beautiful scenery.

Morning discussion with Karin over breakfast: "Oh, someone on BYC had made honey." "No." "It looked pretty nice." "No." "Didn't even seem that difficult." "No. You are not getting bees."

They do love their lettuce which, of course, has the nutritional value not much higher than water!

Teila,

I plant more nutritious greens like Kale and Spinach and lettuces like Romaine.

True of iceberg which I haven't grown since I was a child.

Certainly all lettuces, were not created equal, maybe more so than any other vegetable. Most other lettuces have much more nutrition.

Romaine, for instance is an excellent source of vitamin's K, A, C, B1, biotin, folate, manganese, potassium, copper and iron.

Here's an interesting side by side comparison between, red leaf, green leaf and iceberg.

If I eat out and am considering a salad, I ask what's in it. If iceberg is in the answer, I won't waste my money.

Some places place a cherry tomato and shave a little carrot onto a bowl of iceberg and call it a salad.

ChickenCanoe, that is correct. If you select the "down arrow" next to the person's screen name, there is a block member option. It keeps things blessedly quiet. Just sayin'...

Thanks. Peace and quiet. Brilliant. It could make the BYC experience even more cordial.
