Quote: I saw my first live one a few weeks ago. They are really freaky looking things. Luckily, Karin didn't seem at all interested in them. I don't know how I'd react if she brought one home.

Same here, never heard of a Silkie until I joined BYC. If someone had mentioned a Silkie before, I would probably have thought it was a cat or dog.I saw my first live one a few weeks ago. 15How long before 1967 were you born? I would be grandfathered, as well, by about five years......![]()
I might check into this Wisher, the only problem with offering this at our state fair is that there are not a lot of poultry exhibitors. It may be worth working on other livestock though since rabbits, goats, sheep and cows are well represented.DiDi, I know you like outdoor, landscape, and nature shots, but have you thought about doing set up shots of chickens, like at poultry shows? I know that the shows are always looking for someone to do the pictures, and it is usually anyone they can find with a camera. I think that if someone set up a booth, they could charge for really good pics of those show winners and/or any others that people are proud of.......just a thought.............
OMG you CAN NOT make this stuff up!I took two crates of Silver Campines on a seven hour roadtrip to swap with another breeder. When I first arrived, I was pulled up under the awning at the hotel. I had the back hatch open on the van and was fussing with water and feed when a brand new, bright yellow Camero (ala Bumble Bee Transformer) pulled in behind me. The driver of the Camero called out from just outside the car, "Are those baby eagles?"![]()
OK this one I really have to question as to whether the person knows that is a possum or not. There is apparently a new "meme" going on with road kill animals. People are actually purchasing "Get Well" balloons and attaching them to the bodies. I think it is a bit sick and terribly funny. I wonder if the person who posted the possum poster did it to see how many calls they would get or they did it with a phone number to someone they do not like. Hmmmmmm
Am I a sick person for thinking this is incredibly amusing? There is apparently a new "meme" going on with road kill animals. People are actually purchasing "Get Well" balloons and attaching them to the bodies. I think it is a bit sick and terribly funny.
Tree huggers, never been in the country. Bwahahahaha Dan is saying, "please, please, please call"
