I agree with SCG on liking Sundays although this weekend has been productive both days. Yesterday went to Topaz.



Not much is left there but they do have signs showing where things used to be


I did see a pair of hawks that "allowed" me to photograph them.






Today I went out early again and photographed the small homestead near our house in the morning light.







Then I changed up the lens and shot some of the wild sunflowers.

Topaz? Not the Topaz on Hwy 395 at the California/Nevada border?

@dsqard Nice shots. I like taking pictures of birds in flight too.

The vipers teeth most certainly can penetrate human skin. The better half experienced that a few summers ago at our cottage when she went into the bushes to relieve herself. It will induce swelling, and pain, but isn't usually that dangerous to adults unless you're allergic. Kids and pets are at risk though. And dogs especially tend to get bitten quite a lot. When Karin was bit, she had some hydrocortisone immediately, that kept the reaction at bay. She did experience a hangover like state the next day though.

Sorry. I was discussing the garter snake fangs. European vipers are an entirely different matter.

A report on our broody Alhos again: It seems they no longer want to sit on the nests. However, Veera has not laid in 2 weeks, and Virpi took her fourth day off of laying today. Anyone have any memories of how quickly your girls resumed production after being broody for a week?

Frogs! That I forgot. We've got some too. One lives by the hose under our kitchen window.

PEEP SHOW same with me. If I see a dark shoelace in the road- I do some fancy,foot work to avoid it. Takes awhile to calm the heart down too.

You've got bears and wolves though.

No lions or tigers.

We do have coyotes, wolverines, weasels, stoats, foxes, and I think every raptor God ever created and they all love chicken!

My mother is the worst when it comes to snakes. She'll scream if she sees anything resembling one. I can't even remember how many times I've reacted to her screaming, running towards the sound thinking she's broken a leg or something, only to find that "That stick looked like a snake"
