The Old Folks Home

So, Bama, got lakefront property?

What does a blown up water main look like? I mean, is it a geyser? Sounds kind of fascinating but for the inconvenience.

You could tell everyone that it is a Southern Old Faithful, and charge admission!

If you have a dry climate, you can sprinkle cayenne pepper over the area the cat likes to potty. Once he gets a snort of that - he will usually remove himself same with dogs who keep marking a certain area that now stinks to high heaven. Have to re-apply out here a often because we do get rain and rain etc.

On our lawn, I try to combat the yellow spots the dogs are making with a garden lime product made of crushed egg shells. Seems to balance the acidity a bit.

*Edit* It's nice since you can feed it to chickens as added calcium as well.

Are you in an evac zone?

Oh my Oh my..... We were evacuated twice in the Cedar fire in 2002.... once from Grandmas house to moms house.... then from moms house back to Grandmas house.... In one day. My horse trainer grabbed my Percheron Mare and litterally STUFFED her in a horse trailer with four other horses and took her to a coastal evac center for horses. That fire burned so hot it ate fence posts straight down into the ground.... Nothing left but a pile of nails.

no i am about 6 miles as a crow flies south of it. so we are safe. Our community has taken a hit though. we had another big one 8 miles south of here a few months back.
can not wait for the rain ( hopefully we get some soon)

That was the first time i have ever heard of lightning striking an underground water line. It was pretty much like tipping a fire hydrant on its side and turning it on full blast. Its fixed now

I hope that Hurricane comes up from Mexico and give y'all a bunch of rain!

They usually do not come up with enough moisture to stop fires; conversely they often have lightening with them that causes fires.

I hope we get real el nino rain soon....
