The Old Folks Home

I think the lumber industry had something to do with the downfall of hemp also.

J.P. Morgan had bought the lumber in the Mexican Baha California. He wanted to sell it for paper pulp to make paper. Hemp made a superior paper and was the standard at the time. (The Declaration of Independence is written on hemp paper.) He used his position as an owner of a major newspaper to plant yellow journalism stories painting hemp as a dangerous drug that was corrupting our youth. His money backed the short film Reefer Madness which depicted people smoking it and acting like they were on crack or PCP and becoming violent and deranged. At last it was outlawed and J.P. stripped the Baha of the forest where it turned into the desert that it still is today.

Ummmm........ Hearst was the journalist. Hemp paper was more labor intensive to produce than pulp paper. Baja still has forests; it also has deserts; it is like Oregon, Washington, California, Nevada, and many other places that way.

Whoops that's what I get for trying to do it from memory. I should know better after my chemotherapy stirred my head with a stick. It was Hearst not Morgan that clear cut the Baha. And it has been over twenty years and pre-chemotherapy since I read up on it. So I apologize for a late night blurt that really didn't contribute anything but confusion.

Funny stuff? You want funny stuff? Have I got a blog for you! Insert Evil Laugh ;) How much time do you have? First though- it is written for dog people. But there are many similarities between the poultry world and the dog world. Next- yes there is some foul language.

This one is marginally related to poultry. http://thedogsnobs.com/2013/05/21/the-vegetarian-raw-feeder-conundrum/

Even less related but it goes with the first one even though written at different times.
