The Old Folks Home

It has been a long time since I've been there but I feel your pain. That's some crazy traffic. The only time it's like that here is with an accident, not just raw volume. I experienced that in LA many years ago. Other places that have insane volume related gridlock today are Chicago, Washington DC and Atlanta. Those and LA are the worst I've experienced. Literally hours to drive across town on an interstate. I couldn't live there. My brother moved to a small SW MO town about 25 years ago. He had serious rush hour traffic getting to work at Emerson Electric in St. L. before he left. Perhaps 40 minutes to go 15 miles. Many years later I rode to his job with him in Carthage, MO. On the way back there was a car in front of us. He was being serious when he proclaimed that he hated driving in rush hour. ONE CAR!!!!! How soon we forget.

More disturbing stuff on civil forfeiture. A 45 minute news video.

10 times as many stops in Tennessee on the side of the highway where the money is heading back to Mexico as the side of the highway with the drugs coming from Mexico.

I've frequently carried large amounts of cash. I bought 8 vehicles on E-Bay, flew there, paid for the car and drove it home. Those were in Texas, Florida, Georgia, Massachusetts, Washington D.C. and outstate Missouri.
I didn't know law enforcement could have stolen my money. Scary.

When I can move back to my home in Jacumba Worse traffic is when People are coming back from the desert hauling those "toy boxes" City people with Big Flipping Camping trailers that have compartments for Dune buggys... But most of the time I love the fact that I can come to a stop sign and sit and ponder.... "Now which way shall I go" without some bozo behind me honking his horn...

Most of the time up there traffic is very sparce. The cops are speedsters though and a blind hill can be as far off as a thousand feet. You still have to look twice maybe three times before you pull out.

I'm thinking jumbo Peking up to 13 lbs!
But the Muscovy tasting so different has peeked my interest....
It was a lot harder to kill the duck ( emotionally ) they have these big brown eyes, I don't know... Had to get someone to do it for me... Butchering was easy and plucking was no where near as hard as I thought.... But can't wait until my sons can do it for me.... Hope they will do it anyway.

Might raise some turkeys next year too!
Muscovy is said to be leaner.

When I look at the whole picture the 8 just stands out. I didn't time it.

What's new the police have been doing that stuff for years. I have been stopped and paid more fines for supposed offenses than when I was actually speeding. I have driven all over the United States and no place is innocent, some are worse than others. They really like to prey on under paid servicemen who can't afford to say anything because they will also be punished again by their commanders. It is common practice for cities across to country to raise revenue from traffic stops whether or not an actual crime was committed.

The department my ex worked for called giving tickets a "performance goal"

and that goal was supposed to be about two tickets per day. Those two tickets per day were supposed to vary in type, so not just speeding tickets. Did many ride alongs and it's amazing how many people can be pulled over when you watch closely. Rolling stops, speeding, illegal turns, driving distracted, cell phones, etc.
