The Old Folks Home

We had our first 4 egg day in ages. But the olive egger is making very pale eggs, shouldn't the color be more intensive after a month of not laying? It was like a moss/olive green before she stopped, now it's more of a pastel green.

Also, our mean weight is going up, last 7 days average is over 43 grams!

The first eggs after molt can be odd so wait a bit. The eggs are usually darker at the beginning of the egg laying cycle.

One of my peahens had an egg in her shell gland for about a week before I got it out (long story, lol) and it was soooooo much darker than her regular eggs. I still have it, so I'll take a picture so you can see what can happen to the color of a retained egg. I also noticed this color difference in a few others that would have a shelled egg in the shell gland for 2-3 days, but the color difference was not as noticeable.

I do not know why people paint things in black and white--there are good cops and bad cops. We know of corruption, graft and drug addictions that cause once good people to do bad things.

I absolutely agree. We cannot do without them. Some of the best people I know are law enforcement officers. The bad ones are just so obvious.

But isn't it nice to live in a world where the good is so common, it's almost too mundane to notice, and the bad is still unusual enough make the news?
It is hard to explain that things are good crime wise now.

All of the major crime rates are much lower than they were 20 years ago.

Get this, the murder rate in Mexico is half of what it was years ago. We would not know that from watching the news.
