It is odd, isn't it? We have over an inch but at least we don't need to plow but maybe I should change the tires before they are hidden under snow

Alaskan wouldn't even call this snow. It was just a few flakes. Just something that would shut down Heathrow airport, the Greek road system or Los Angeles. Can't even see the flakes on the ground anymore.

Well, I'm off to change some tires, then I'll try to make some carrot-ginger-coconut milk soup.

Alaskan,  your spouse doesn't want to move???         I take it she is not a  shopping mall type of woman.

That is one of the very few things spouse and I agree on ... to shopping, shopping malls and people. Though spouse does think clothes that are free of holes are prefered. I am still ticked that I was forced to toss out my Carhartt pants that had been splattered with battery acid. SHEESH!!! I though that they looked stylish! Supposedly some of the holes were in "strategic" areas. I asked the boys, they sidded with me...nothing was falling out!

I am getting fed up with all of this work that I have been doing! (OK, some of it payed, so that part is good),,but now I need to drive all about, AGAIN!

That soup looks good.

Having an abundance of coconuts can mean you can overdo it and suddenly get sick of the flavor so we don't use that much in cooking. Apart from shallots, I can get everything locally in your recipe.

Today we will make curry out of two roosters that went into the "stainless steel finish" coop yesterday.

A store bought curry powder
Garam masala
Coriander seed
Onions
Canned tomatoes in sauce
Extra chilli
Carrots
Potatoes
