Thought about painting the trim first before attaching but having quandaries about what color I'm going to do it...have to see what the shingle staining looks like before deciding on white or cedar color. Shingles are actually being cut in stacks, but it's the little custom ones that are so time-consuming (measure twice, cut once, swear).
I get what you're saying, I think, about the paneling... I don't think I have the right saw equipment for that, though. Oh, well... it has been a learning experience.
I'll bump to somebody else with more knowledge about American window mechanics. I just got the pre-fab shed windows for the coop, so simple spring and slide mechanism. I do like the fact they've got bug screens on them, although flies will be able to enter via the chicken door.
