The Old Folks Home

If i had ayam cemanis they would have a bedroom inside my house. They would have a dedicated door to their bulletproof run. I couldnt imagine not hatching as many as i could. $$$$$

even roosters would be worth more than a meal

After I realized the market I had in the Philippines even for mutts, I started incubating every egg. Yup, I bought white eggs from the store. 8 bucks for a chick, 9 cents for an egg. you do the math

It seems to order eggs from Indonesia is legal... But even at $140 ( which is a steel ) I just couldn't justify it... Unless they all hatched and and had a buyer or two... Put those birds on my someday list. ;)

A female roommate of mine went on a date with a guy she just met, on their second date he asked her to marry him. Crazy. After much deliberation, she said yes.
It didn't last long. Go figure.
I don't know what it was about me but my boyfriends had a tendency to ask me to marry them after dating a week. When my husband asked me, I said yes but we waited a year to get married. I wanted to get married on the day he asked me but I didn't realize that most churches won't marry you unless you take a class through them. We got married 3 days late at a JP and I still wish it had been a church wedding. We have been together for 38 years. We were lucky. We met at a bar and have been together since that night.

Not yet

I was given a couple of eggs that were from a project breeder in SoCal.

They have multiplied but not to sellable levels.

I hope to get a doz eggs from java next year though

Well let me know. I'm not interested in purebreeds but I do find "interesting" birds a fun part of my flock. I do have plans to combine them with my turkens.

Vehve:
First marriage I dated the guy for a year and was engaged for nine months and married for 11+ years. The last year or so+ was dreadful.
Second marriage I was engaged after three months and married (thus far and hopefully till death do us part) 16 years. Friends that read me the Riot Act have since asked for seconds of humble pie as No. 2 is as solid as they come.

IMHO after your firsr go-round you figure out what you will or will not compromise for, make better choices, and get married for all the right reasons.
(At least for me, anyway)

Did Vehve get married? And then divorced?
Nothing to be ashamed about! I was married 18 months, including the divorce paperwork/waiting.
I learned a lot about what I wanted in a mate/didn't want in a mate in the short time I was married. For some reason the actually being married part made some behaviors intolerable.

Those are most likely silkeys..... Yep Silkies are hiding that gene under all that fluff.... Not quite as dark as Ceminis but some are darker than others....

Last year I processed a showgirl rooster. He made a tiny, cute, dark carcass for some soup. I've processed quite a few banties for meat but the showgirl was my favorite so far. So cute.

It is in Canada. I the US, those countries are on the import restricted list. The only way we could get them would be to send them to Canada and then to the United Sates.
