The Old Folks Home

I made the appt, they tried to make it for Wednesday, but I begged and pleaded and I go at 330.

I broke half a molar off, going to part of the root, and another molar is broken. The one on my bottom right is infected, I taste the pus. Eeewew. I can not eat or drink. I can't go be with my chickens, which makes me upset. I am almost always outside with them.

Tomorrow 2 guys in our crew are coming up to help us prep for winter, including building my ayam cemani & haffies and bresse coop and to better predator proof the pens. I don't need to lose any of my animals to predators this winter.

So I need to get this tooth yanked. I'm s bit nervous. Trying not to start hitting the bottle. But I'm in so much pain/misery.

Anyone decorate their porches? I'd like to see some pictures :)

Happy halloween guys! Here's my contribution:

This is the second year I've tried carving a pumpkin. I'm not really expecting for anyone to show up at the door, but I bought some lollipops and some candy just in case. There is a kids birthday party next door, so maybe they'll get into the spirit.

*Edit* DK, that's the kind of teeth you get if you don't go see the dentist.
In all the years we've been here, with the porch lights on, kids have only come about 4 times. The house is a bit scary but also a fair walk from other houses. When they have come, the parents were parked at the end of the driveway.

I am German\Irish.

The German Nature wants no contact.

The Irish nature wants to hug everyone!

talk about awkward....
Maybe you can at least hug yourself.

I hate smileys but I thought that sentence needed one.

Yes, children must be protected from the horrors. ...
I've been in trouble a couple times. I took the kids to a drive-in to see Jurassic Park in my pickup truck. I was working a lot of hours and fell asleep laying on the seat. The kids were something like 5 and 6 and watched the whole movie sitting on me. Wife was working nights and wasn't pleased.

A couple years later, I took them to a very scary haunted house in a very haunted city - Alton, IL. They were excited to go until we were walking across the street and a zombie came running at us so the kids freaked out before we even got to the building. We bought tickets and just walked in when both kids said they wanted to bale.
The place got angry when I wanted my money back. We hadn't even entered the interior. Probably not the best move on my part.

I KNOW I am not the only one in the Old Folks Home that remembers that book series...... No, Ron, it is not Seuss.......anyone?

I learned on those books but it was in the 60's. I didn't know they had been around from the 1930's. Wow. Took them a long time to change things. Maybe they shouldn't have changed what worked. So many kids can't read now. I have a 21 year old that hates, hates, hates to read. I don't even know how well he can read. They made exceptions for him in school and now he needs to go to school for a mechanics certificate and he won't because it requires reading. He can do the work, but he won't ever make much money without the certificate.

Last report: DW will not let him have a little coop like the one sold at Costco.

I should buy it and have it delivered to his office.

Very nice! My chickens have "decorated" my front porch but I hosed it off this morning.

Two years ago I did the "chicken family" on my pumpkins. Daddy was delicious. I have a scar on my left pointer finger to remind me of this wonderful moment.

Goodness.... I'm away for 24 hours and there's close to 200 posts!

Where does one get oregano oil? I like the idea of it. At our house we do Source Naturals Wellness Formula daily and haven't been truly sick for years....but every little bit helps!

Deb...
LOL'ed about somebody dropping a kitten into the Trick-or-Treat bag. Genius! Might be a way to get rid of extra zucchini and eggplant, if they were in season. (Of course, it might also be a way to get a lot of zucchini and eggplant thrown at your house, too.)

TGIF = Tequila Goes In First. Yeah, potent stuff. My sister used to host a Cinqo de Mayo party that she could never attend the end of because she literally crawled up the stairs to sleep it off. One year the police showed up three times as the more tequila that's consumed the louder the volume gets. Ahhh, but good sipping tequila... I'm there with you on that one. Mescal, too. There's rocket fuel and smooth sippers.

Happy Halloween to all! Hope it's spooktacular! We're going trick-or-treating with the grandkids 5 and 3, respectively. The 3 y.o. is nearly as tall as the 5 y.o....she's got a future in women's sports, for sure. Bruiser of a kid, too. This year they're a unicorn and Minnie Mouse.

Boo!!

We were gifted a fantastic bottle of aged anejo tequila from my bf's bosses when we bought our house 8 years ago. It was fantastic, similar to a great bourbon or whisky. I normally hate tequila, but I loved that stuff, and it came in a beautiful cobalt blue bottle, I think we still have it somewhere.

This is my tooth right now

I go in less than 2 hours to get it taken care of.

I'm eyeing this bottle of buellit bourbon with a longing look in my eyes. Surely the dentist would understand if I had a tipple or two to dull the throbbing in my mouth.

Most health food store should carry oregano oil... Or could bring it in for you... I use joy of the mountain brand.... It's spicy!

That looks painful....
