The Old Folks Home

So...... I was sitting with kid #4 on the couch, and the couch shook. He said he didn't feel it, didn't know what I was talking about.

So, I looked it up, to see how big of a quake it was...turns out it was a small one, just a bit drawn out.

Then, I found this table that I thought you'll might enjoy.

Homer has had: (M1.5 or greater)

2 earthquakes today
15 earthquakes in the past 7 days
84 earthquakes in the past month
946 earthquakes in the past year

The largest earthquake in Homer:

today: 2.1 in Southern Alaska
this week: 3.8 in Southern Alaska
this month: 4.3 in Anchorage, Alaska, United States
this year: 6.2 in Anchorage, Alaska, United States

My best friend in Grade school lived on Kodiak Island when that big one hit.... Back in 1964

some serious shakeage.... it liquified the soil.... and has been reclassified as a 9.2.

So... I take it the Banty coop is built to Earthquake code?

You guys have a disaster plan in place.... please tell me you do.... I am a worrier....

deb "who lives in Earthquake country that hasnt seen a big earthquake i n a very very long time"
