I just came in from moving Elvis and Tuffle (muscovies) to the meaties pen. Elvis was pulling the tail feathers on all my chickens, and kept knocking over the waterers.

Today is niceish weather, I'm going to go muck out all the chicken/duck/bunny coops/pens after lunch. It's getting mighty poopy in there.

Which means a trip to the feed store tomorrow to pick up yet more straw.

Between the straw all getting constantly wet from the snow melting and getting everything muddy and gross I'm going through a lot of straw. In 3 different chicken runs/coops.

CC, those are not wild reindeer, however, they might be in the wild. I don't know that much about the practices, but I know they are often kept free, there's special legislation giving certain rights to people in the reindeer business.

And yeah, our elks are more like moose.

Why wouldn't you be welcome in the EU?

I meant not welcome as in not with citizenship of a common market country and the ability to work.
I also meant I wouldn't leave - 'Finland'. Seems nice enough.

I think it's quite easy to move here, if you can find a job. After 4 years, you can apply for permanent residency, and some time after that, nationality.

I guess one would need an employer as a sponsor to work legally. If I lived somewhere with such long winters, I may not own chickens.
