Deb,I was 17 in 1964 and was driving and I don't remember it ever being that low in LA. I do remember $.39 though. Mama and I would take $2 to the grocery store and walk out with 2 lbs of meat and several cans of veggies and bread. Hm those were the days. A bowl veggie and beef homemade soup and crackers and a coke was $.25 at the dime store soda counter. Yep, I'm old.

Deb, very pretty aerial view. I think I've asked before, but never heard the story. In another picture you've shared, you've written "Helipad - long story". Got time for a long story?

sure....

That Helopad was supposed to be an arena.... Class A for driving to run along the driveway. 100 feet x 300 feet. But close to where my line touches the yellow is a giant rock about the size of my house. He couldnt take it down three feet which is what he needed to to get it level.

I wrote a humorous story about it and dont have my notes right now.... But the fellow was excentric and every one up on the mountain knew him... and slapped their foreheads when they found out I hired him. And paid him an advance to boot.

1000 dollars was to get me the arena and a groom of the driveway.... He got his last payment then told me that he could go no further.

I estimate that I got a good deal any way. I got not just the driveway graded but the whole of Tearose Lane too that crosses my property.

Good thing I had one because the next year Life flight landed on it to take me to the hospital after my horse trampled me....

Deb that is a nice bit of space to have!

Eighteen acres. Minimum parcel size in this area is ten.... therefore it is not splitable. But there are several easements through it.... One is the road Tearose lane... There is also another above me provided for road connection to another road... but it wasnt done right no one could ever use it. Then below the road is the power lines and the easement for them.... so the corner of land below the road can only be used for one thing.... pasture.

The deal is though That is creek bed sand and the natural course of a seasonal creek. and all those dark plants you see are ten to fifteen foot tall ribbon wood trees. I couldnt turn that into pasture.... Its our firewood. Mine and Toms in the mobile home opposite me across Tearose.

I wish I could field fence it though and maybe run some Barbados sheep or meat goats. they would raise up the skirts of the trees and keep down the fuel for fire.
