Went to Soulard Market for groceries yesterday. It's the oldest farmers' market west of the Mississippi.
Among other things, I got:
7 limes for $1. My local grocer sells 2 for $3.
2 pineapples for $1. Local grocer, $3 each.
12 pints of blackberries for $5. Grocer $3 each.
2 mangoes for $1.
On the other hand, farm eggs were $3 while the grocer is selling cage eggs for 99 cents a dozen. They're selling below cost to get people to buy their baking goods there.

I scored some great hand made hot links, Weiss wurst, goat meat, hot head cheese and a nice piece of sashimi grade tuna.
For lunch today it was a sandwich of a couple slices of hot head cheese, brick cheese, spring greens, tomatoes and german mustard.
