The Old Folks Home

Which means what v?

No I haven't been in byc jail... still sick after Thanksgiving. Even worse today.

Hmmm. I feel left out. No holiday avatar. Bah haha. *sniffle*

I have t5, t12, 315w cmh, 250w mh, 400w hm, 1000w hm, 1000w hps and 860w cmh for my indoor gardening endeavors. I really am loving what cmh produces and they are ALMOST as efficient as t5 as far as power use, but much better output.

We're ordering our seeds from Baker Street soon. On another note, the 2 incubators have been ordered along with the brinsea brooder heat plate supposed to be able to fit 50 chicks under it. We shall see...

DK, those phrases were mainly useful for a Canadian. I'm sure Sam will run them through google translate soon and be cross with me.

I'm sure Deb, Cyn or Wisher will help you with the avatar, but your's is pretty festive already.

I've got one 18W lightbulb designed for plants that gives a purpleish light, I've built it into one of those Ikea mini greenhouse toys, and then a fluorescent tube that's meant for plants as well which gives a white light, I think it's around 20W as well. They worked fine for starting our plants last year, I might need to get another longer fluorescent one this year though. I'm also planning on making wick watered starter pots for the plants. Just need to find a container for the water that looks presentable enough for the better half to approve of.

Sam, although, valvonta means surveillance, control would be hallinta. And in Finnish, you would actually give up control (luovuttaa hallinta) and not give control (antaa hallinta).

But you've studied it more, Sam. I've only ever taken three short 6 week courses in high school. They forced me to take those in order to take the A level exam in high school. I learned English from Cartoon Network originally. I was about 8 years old when we moved to a new neighborhood, leaving all of my friends behind, and the new place had a satellite dish. One summer later I was fluent in English.

Give me a break you have a better grasp of English than me never mind Finnish

better grasp of English than I

I think in this case it should be Me.

You and have a better grasp than me....
You have a better grasp
better grasp than me
better grasp than I doesn't sound right.

I believe it would be "Me"... because you cant extract the single pronoun to make a sentience with a singular person.

I did run it through a grammar checker just to see if I was right. There were no flags but there was also no explanation so I ran it with I and again no flags and no explanation.

For example:

You have a better grasp than me
You have a better grasp than I

Looks good both ways

I think the deal is when you use.

You and I do something.
You and me do something.

the sentience sounds fine if you just say

I do something.

But not

Me do something.

Its a weird grammar rule in English. I am only a writer not an editor.... so I may be blowing smoke...
