I like the lil snap texture the meat has with squirrel..would clean it up and batter it in a salt n pepper bread crumb and fry it up..as one of my fav ways to eat it been awhile now...lil suckers still make me drool when I eye em

Me either, unless I'm at the starving point. Hopefully, this will not happen, even though we are getting older, and this being retired thing is a lot less, we still have plenty for our needs.

Did you see the -- uh-oh, was it Andrew Zimmer or Anthony Bourdain -- where they ate guinea pig? Tasty little suckers, apparently. I think it was Bizarre Foods.

The worst episode I ever saw was Anthony Bourdain and the from-scratch iguana tacos. (I happened to have a pet iguana at the time and was basically incapacitated with the flu and couldn't move off the sofa). From dispatching the poor lizard on.... At least there was some vindication when Anthony proclaimed 'This is the vilest thing I have EVER eaten." If I hadn't have been so empty I would've thrown up.

Saw those episodes.... and the one with the iguana.... LOL. I am a fan of both Zimmern and Bourdain... Guinea pigs are interesting critters and I used to raise them.... not by choice but at one point i had more than sixty.... You think Chicken math is a hoot.... Guinea pig math is exponential... before you figure out how to sex em....

I love it when they're born and just off running.... all bulky head and pencil body until they fill out a bit. Yeah, my rodent of choice...But NOT for eating.

One a piece.... of course you dont just eat that.... you have veggies along with it. I would not cook them myself though I would want to eat at a Peruvian restaruant or as an authenic regional home cooked meal. Yep I would try it I would try squirrel too.... same conditions.

Bout the only thing I wont try is those creepy crawlies Zimmern will eat.... and Balutes.

I learned to like liver, and even order it on purpose in a restaurant.... because I learned how to cook liver and know how good it can taste. When I was a child I would cut it into pea sized pieces and swallow it like pills with my milk. Mom cooked it wrong.

So I am of the feeling, and this is me I am not trying to convince any one but i am of the feeling, that I should try things many more times than once before I decide its not for me.

The deal is for me my issue is texture... I love cookies I love Ice cream but I wont eat Cookies and creme Icecream.... Same goes for Cookies in milk shakes.... Even the cookie crumbs in the bottom of the milk when you dunk cookies in milk for a snack... Cant drink it.
To me it would be like drinking the water in the bottom of the sink after doing dishes.... its that kind of reaction....

I have the same gag when I drink my last bit of coffee and get a single coffee ground.... I get through it but I hate it.
