Wisher as a freshman in college. I had my signature pink oxford button-down shirt on.

Notice the "Add-a-Bead" necklaces? Who else had one (or more) of those?

Oh, geez, Wisher were you a (gasp) Preppie!??

Cyn, I've been stepped on quite a few times, usually by my minis. The worst to date was a TB I was leading out of a stall. We were turning down toward the barn door as we came out of the stall, and her near fore caught my left foot on the instep, rolled it right over to the outside and then she stepped on it. If I had tried to stay upright there's no telling what I might have done to my ankle; I went down like I'd been shot. Scary feeling your foot get mashed sideways under that much weight. When she got off, I got up, and led her to the gate and let her out. Got some lovely bruises out of that one, and it was several months before I could stand on tiptoes comfortably. Could have been a lot worse, but I was really glad I was wearing shoes!

It does appear that way, but not really. Chances are good that I also wore a silver and black belt buckle and a purple and black braided belt (with jeans) in that pic. I had the trappings, but I don't think a true preppie would be spending her weekends clogging, showing horses (western pleasure, trail, and halter) and line dancing. I was a "little sister" at a fraternity (a professional frat, not a social one) but other than that, I didn't speak greek. I was a swimmer and a diver, I loved to camp and roller skate. That was the only time in my life that I routinely wore make-up, and it got old fast.

And this one from when I was little. I am on the right side in the back. My sister and brother are the two on the left. My brother is the baby in front.

I never realized how funny it sounded to get thrown off a senior bus but, now after various comments here, I am cracking up. It wasn't as neat as it sounds. Before I started riding the senior bus, I was what I called a "distance" walker" someone who walks far but, generally on flat, paved surfaces. A "hiker " has the hard part of going over hill and dale & everything rough inbetween.

I got obsessed with walking., after a very slow start, years of just walking 8 miles a day, I discovered if I pushed myself I could walk much more. To make a long story shorter, I ended up doing over 3,000 miles in a calendar year, 3 years in a row. I got the presiden't award (one of the Bush's) for submitting my records and paying $ 8. He was on a exercise kick for the country.
Then I got sick of walking to the same places - most had no sidewalks or shoulders on the road, so cut back drastically to about 600 miles a year. Eventually got old enough for the senior bus and figured it was dumb to waste sometimes 8 hours walking when I could get around much faster on the bus.

The point I am going to make is - I don't do much walking now but, ten miles or less is very doable for me. So hopping off and walking 2.5 miles home was just for effect. All the drivers and dispatchers KNEW I could do it in my sleep. But not all the passengers knew that.

Twice one of the lady drivers forgot me at the AMCtheatre and I had to walk 5.5 miles home in weather I wasn't dressed for, and darkness falling with almost NO sidewalks, etc. No cell phone, no pay phones anymore soooo. Walking when enraged really tames the chill.

* distance as per Timex Ironmax speed + distance system (satellite ) - I wore out 4 transceivers during that time and it needed battery changes ever 7-8 hrs. or so.(in snow, sleet, pouring rain etc.- while I was outside).
