The Old Folks Home

The rocks will start soon.

For heritage breeds, 8 months can be Normal.

Do you have pictures of your white rocks?
Coming real soon. I just got a smart phone and will be learning to load pics and handle things soon. I had get 10 bags of soil to put down as a water break for the coop. Last week it rained 5" in 2 days. The coop is on a slope and so it went through but still was MUDDY. They aren't as spiffy as I'd like. So looking forward to this year.

Back then it probably gave people the wrong impression, but I thought it was funny. They were supposed to be good luck charms back then. I thought it was a cool hood ornament Lol!

Yeah. You can do it with any bread recipe that makes 2 loaves - split into 4, roll into circles and let rise in cast iron pan.

Here's the official recipe:

That looks spectacular. I do it the easy no knead way.
In bowl I add 12 oz tap water and 1/4 teaspoon Bread Yeast and 1 1/2 teaspoon salt. Stir.

Add 3 cups of Bread Machine flour and stir with the round handle of a wooden spoon. About 30 seconds. Done. Cover with saran wrap and sit overnight. Next morning, stir down again for a few stirs and put in greased loaf pan. Cover with cloth for 2 hrs. Bake at 400 for 30 or so minutes. Cool down and slice. I've never made bread before because of the intimidation of the kneading and such. Easiest , lightest bread ever. Steve Gamelin on youtube has a series of these short tutoritals.
