SCG maybe the chick has low blood sugar, I had a newborn pup seizure and gave a bit of sugar water, after that he started nursing, and was fine afterward.

I've got a bunch of active pips so I don't want to pull it out yet. I do use sugar water for the first 3-5 days, depending on how hard of a hatch it was.

I'm trying to clean the house but keep getting drawn back to my little peeps. One fell asleep in my hand for a few minutes. So cute.

I did get a rewards card tag for my key chain at Ace.  It gives me $5.00 off coupon for anything there, each time I spend $230.00.  I doubt it takes me long to get my first $5.00 coupon, because I shop at Ace.

I know. I tell her all the time that she's the bravest person that I know. She says "Oh Mamaw, that's so sweet of you." She also tells me that she loves me more than chocolate and unicorns.

She is so precious. My youngest loves me more than ponies. LOL

I keep wondering if your super high protein levels aren't detrimental to them.

I think 16% in the winter is just fine, but definitely not higher than 20%.

When it gets super cold, I don't increase their protein, I increase their fat intake.

I have not a care in the world which gender but if I had to venture a guess, I would say, male. It was the kids with no seat in his pants story that sealed it for me, right or wrong.

I guess my point is for people to try and start a feed co-op so it will be cheaper. I tried in vain for a few years, even with our large local chicken group. There was a lot of interest in organic but it never got off the ground. There was an organic mill outstate that occasionally drove loads this way but they were very hard to contact and are now defunct.
The coop fairy already had a co-op going, mostly for dog and parrot feed. She even got a lot of raw meat for the dogs. She had several freezers at the time.

I am going to go on a co-op finding journey.

My dad was pleased with the shocked reactions of the class.... except for the one guy who got it.

Which I think makes it even better. (when one person gets it, but not the rest....funnier)

Anyway, my sister still isn't in labor.

But, you know how those things go.... never know when.

That does make it funnier.

We buy all our feed at ace hardware. The FRM brand is awesome and the chickens poop doesnt stink. Next time you go there pick up 1 of these and fill it out. They will send you $5 off coupons in the mail about once a month. Its nice to be able to buy a 50 lb bag of layer feed for $6

I help people with gender issues at work - I don't see what the big deal is about Alaskan even having a gender.

We love him and/or her. S/he's gender doesn't affect my life. That's all that matters.

Oh my popsicles!!! Ebony (spawnofsatan) just attacked my thumb. She just injected her longest tooth on the side of my nail bed for no reason.

What is it with these cats of ours or is it me? She jumped up while my hand was resting on the back of the computer chair and chomped down on my hand.

It hurts like you know what. She must have hit a nerve. It's bad enough I am allergic, right? Sheesh. I even bought her a new bed today.
