The Old Folks Home

good plan

my ameracauna is the oldest bird I have from 2009. Her first egg was huge and she's never laid a small egg. The only bird I've had that didn't do the pullet egg stage.
They've been around 70 grams her whole life. She's also raised about 10 broods of chicks.
4 of the 5 eggs due next week are hers. Perhaps olive eggers in my future.

I put my bacon on a cookie rack over a cookie sheet and bake it so it is slightly crisp and I love it not greasy and does not shrink! Yummy 400* for 18-20 min.

I sent that ancestry site some info on my family tree.
They sent me a pack of seeds and suggested I just start over

Speaking of seeds......

The pack of seeds you sent me arrived yesterday morning, Dude. Those were not tomatoes. In retrospect, I should have given you my home address, not the work one.

On an entirely unrelated note - you are all invited to my retirement party, tomorrow. Sorry for the short notice, the paperwork was hurriedly submitted on Friday afternoon.

Riiiiight! you just didn't want any of us coming. How can a chicken keeper leave town on a moments notice. We appreciate the thought anyway.
Congratulations on the retirement. Get out while the gettin's good.
