The Old Folks Home

Not really, she wasn't getting any better. No point in prolonging the inevitable. I would have hoped that she would have gotten better, but three days inside without significant improvement was enough, keeping her alive any longer would just have been animal cruelty.
Sorry for your loss.

is this the thread for SAD(seasonal affective disorder folks). I mentioned that Jo ann fabrics often has the Ott lights 50% off - I don't know if they do right now BUT, right now they have a 50% off coupon on any regular priced items you can print out online and use in store or online. Good only through Thursday. Just sign up for their emails fast. This means someone could also buy fiskars, etc. if they are not otherwise on sale at this time.

I hardly need stuff from there but the 50% off coupons are great. You can also use them at their competitors like Michael's.

I really want the 26 spool Gutermann thread they had on sale for 15.99 (which would be so much better with a 50% off coupon, too) but when I went my store was sold out and they're no longer offering it online, either. Darn! In fact I wanted it so badly I checked the availability in stores in Utah and sent Dsqard after it... there was one store near her with it, she just happened to go to the other store near her that was sold out.

I'm sorry about blabbing on about details, but it seems my way of processing is to turn excessively analytical.

That's what this thread is for!

I'm sorry for your loss, but proud of you. You weren't as big of a wimp as me.

We do tie the feet in a slipknot, one on each foot with one piece of rope, so it's easy to slip on and slip off. Next to the area that we do the deed we have a hook. Do the deed, and hang them. They'll flap a bit but it's as controlled as it's going to be. For the area we use a large piece of unsplit fire wood with 2 nails driven into it to slip the neck into. It's narrow enough that you can slightly pull the bird back and the head stays in place. It's very easy.

And for you, Oz...

  • THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN GRAY HAS ISSUED A WINTER STORM WATCH... WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON THROUGH THURSDAY AFTERNOON.
  • * HAZARD TYPES... HEAVY SNOW.

Someone please change the channel. This one's gotten real old.

@superchemicalgirl Thanks, that's what I figured no NN gene no naked neck. I'm ok with that. The turken blood should increase thier size. And from what I've read on turkens they are good meat bird good layers and somehow hardy. I think the cross will suit my purposes of a fibro flock for meat.
