I wore a 3 piece charcoal pin stripe suit to the funeral yesterday, lavender shirt and yellow check tie. Didn't quite get my beard trimmed neatly.
But the thing that brought the most attention was the comfy grey canvas shoes. I said, "well at least I didn't wear sneakers."

By the way, all the eulogies are the hardest part of sitting through a funeral.
I think this was at least my 30th funeral.

@chickwhispers I haven't had a problem with frost bit with them..and we usually get into the single digit winters. And, I did NOT like them when I first had them, then, I found that you can have them with the bow ties..much better, fell in love with them. That is Gladys, and she is a sweetheart. yep

the best way to limit funerals is to die first in your "gang"

alternatively you can live on a remore island

I've actually found that my birds that don't seem fit for winter are better sports than the ones that you'd think would be built for winter. My leghorns (when I had them), my banties and my naked necks are all troopers when it comes to winter. My big girls (brahma, orphs, RIRs) stay inside huddled most of the time. I was shocked by it the first winter but now we just go with it. I even have a showgirl that spends all winter outside with the rest of the flock. She is in need of a major bath right now (she gets poo butt in winter badly) but otherwise is fine.

Cool! My good friend/former neighbor has started raising them last year. I may get a couple to go with my silkies. She has some NNs and bowties.

I have about $100 I could spend. How space will that get me?

I was surprised ALL my girls this year ventured out. It took them a few weeks but they do come out on nicer days when I let them. If it was nasty cold and windy I didn't let them out. My Leghorns and BO didn't know when to go back in!

Hatching season is in full swing! My Sportsman is as close to being full as it has ever been.

These three are my hatchers, clean and ready for eggs.

This was taken as I was loading the bator. It has approximately 150 eggs in it right now and I add more each Friday.

Next batch is due to hatch Wednesday.
