Bama, probably a better pic in those. I can leave the yard lights on to give some assistance to it if necessary, but this ~100 euro model seems like a good way to get started. I don't want to start with a high end device, if it turns out we won't be using it that much anyway. But if I get this and notice that we find a lot of use for it, then I could consider a slightly better one.

she told me about it just this past Thursday, and I told her that I was just SO HAPPY that she hadn't broken something important.

I like mutts. I'm hoping one of our Buffs will go broody and will set some Orp/Wellie crosses for me. We were hoping that we had 4 Welsummer hens but it turns out that it looks like we have two roos and two hens. 2 had salmon colored breast feathers come in and the other two had black breast feathers along with little combs. We should be getting some beautiful dark brown speckled eggs from those two Wellie hens I hope and if the Buff roos do their jobs and let the Wellie roos come around the Buff hens, we will get some very pretty chicks out of them.

Yeah, Eemeli has a pretty nice comb. He lost some of his tips this winter though. I really didn't like our SS:s at first, but they've really grown on me. Emma, the hen, is a wonderful parent, even though she can be a bit of a bully otherwise. Now that we've lost the three girls that she bullied to various predators and what not, that shouldn't be an issue.

I can relate to disappointing gender spread. We hatched out 4 wheaten-cuckoo maran mix chicks in winter, and all of them turned out to be boys. And since we weren't paying attention, we lost one layer due to that too. By the time we noticed how much weight she had lost, it was already too late. Those boys are about 16-17 weeks now, so they should be going to freezer camp soon.

Plus, with the shipping, it would cost pretty much anyway. The cheapest option is 26 bucks for shipping. And I risk having to pay a customs fee and VAT for that thing, bringing the total to around 60-70. I'd rather get it now, with a one year warranty, which in practice will be a two year warranty because according to Finnish law, a product has to have an expected life cycle, which for most electronic devices is two years.

But I appreciate the offer. I will trade some seeds with you in the fall though, if I get anything saved. I would offer you chocolate as a trade, but I seem to recall your munchies don't extend to cacao products.

As for the Wisteria I dug it up and tried planting it in my yard and it just died from being transplanted and watered I guess.

I love Wisteria.... and wanted it for my patio.... till I found out its poisonous...

Besides the patio needs to be rebuilt before I add any kind of climbing vine to it. I am thinking Grapes Now.

Deb, I bet grapes grown out there would make some excellent wines. Does anyone know how the drought has affected the wine quality in Napa? Usually vines that need to work to stay alive produce the best wine.

Our chicks are growing... They'll be four weeks on Monday.

LOVE the pictures and that last one has excellent composition. Its like Momma Broody is saying.... "Now Class.... I want you to pay particular attention to....."
