The Old Folks Home

Quote: That's great. Most people think I am crazy when I tell them my birds know hand commands. They are very smart and can learn what we want them to do. You do take the commands further than I do. lol I should try some new ones. :) I have three day old turkey's come to me when I put my hand in the brooder and motion for them to come to me.
That's funny that your BF does not know how you do it. lol My DH is lost when he has to tend the birds also. lol

Chickadoodles is the Turkey whisperer. Don't they breed midget turkeys too, or did I dream that? I'm guessing those are for lunch, and the full grown for large family dinners.

Diva I have med. and large turkey. I did have a midget white last year. I love all my turkey. I actually lost one of my best tom's last night to something. I have no idea what but he was dead this morning when I went to feed and I did not see any marks or bites on him. But DH said he heard the dogs having a fit last night. I guess I was out on my sleeping pill.
I have been distraught all day over him!

My birthday is May 9 but thanks in advance lol
Your welcome.

Bama, I checked my calendar and have nothing special for May 9, so I'll probably remember your birthday.

Birthday 40 was terrible for me only because women weren't supposed to have kids that late - so mourned that. Since then they have been popping them out like candy. Heck even their mothers offer to "carry" them for daughters that cant. Whatever, I did want to say as bad as 40 seemed to me. ,50 was a breeze and 60 , I didn't even pay attention .

Aren't there tribes the give folks their weight in gold for their birthday?

He treats the birds really well - they know when the fat man gets home it usually means treats for them. He will pick the goats up some donut holes and always picks the chickens up something or throws sunflower seeds in when he gets home. He just doesn't do any of the daily drudgery unless he has to (if I'm unable).

I have been distraught all day over him!

I'm so sorry. It's tough to lose them. I keep picturing that prolapsed colon...
