Happy Mother's day to all.

I feel like we are have 'Nor Easters here! We have had rain since Thursday and yesterday's daily amount was 5 inches.

We've got more today. Supposed to be dry Monday and Tuesday and then hit us again Wednesday until ? No wonder the stinking Canadian Geese have decided we have a marsh land and are visiting for the first time in 6 years.

I also got a new "pet" for Mother's day. Pulled out cereal for breakfast and there was a hole in the box.

Spent before and after church cleaning the pantry and putting everything in plastic tubs, setting mouse bait and traps.

On the up side, my broody girl is warm and dry and has 5 chicks so far.

Still 2 eggs that could be on day 21 today so might be hope for a couple more. Hope it does dry out before she brings them to ground.

I put feed & water in the box with them so hopefully she will wait a bit longer before she gets them out of the box.

Have a great week all!
Happy Mothers day to you also.

Mother nature at her best, it's coming this way. What can you do?

Mice they do so much damage before you even know they are in!

Congrats on your broody hatch! Hope the rest will hatch!

Our broody is sitting on some chicks I can hear them but she is still sitting so we can't see them. I have no idea how many eggs she had under her.
I marked down all my poults for a great Mothers day sale and they are all sold! YEAH!

In my four years of raising chickens I have never had one go broody. Now I have three. Tiana, Skye and Nugget. It's been two days and they haven't budged. Could the sight of all the chicks (who are loving their outdoor area) have set them off?

Did you get the broody hens from a breeder?

@sourland has been dancing again. He heard that some of us wanted broodies, and he's always glad to oblige. Unfortunately, his broody GPS is pretty random - or so he claims.
