OMG I love it.... but you know? I was picturing the table top of the coffee table being concrete, not the base...

We love you too, diva!I've been living in the same house for over 45 years, some of original families are still here. Others have known me for 25 years or so when our kids where in Parent-tot class, pre school, kindergarten,,. Except for one mother who was close in age to me , the others were roughly 15 years younger than me. I liked them but, they didn't seem to want a friendship.
I never fit in with PTA types. Despite all the years here, I do not have one friend I could call up and go to a movie with or out to lunch etc. The ladies on the senior bus refuse to try anything new like a "Talking" movie. Just kidding. They say all the movies stink - though they haven't seen any since Gone with the Wind.
I had 'friends' ? when I walked a great deal, they were in different suburbs and friendlier than the ones in my neighborhood. They said they wanted to walk with me - never did.
Used to have great friends when I showed dogs. I used to trim their dogs and evaluate their litters and give them equipment I didn't need. etc. Some had been like second parents to me. When I got out of dogs, they all unfriended me. The "second parents," dumped me when I had my son because he was more important to me than having dogs.
The folks I know (through BYC) have been the best friends I've ever had. I have no idea what they look like, we will probably never meet. But they know me better than my family. I think because they actually pay attention to what I post, as I do about them. My family pulls the "uh-huh" bit when I try to tell them anything - it's not worth the effort.
People say we have no friends nowadays because of computers and texting and tweeting and whatever. But, I obviously didn't have any real friends, before computers.
I really feel a connection between my friends here and it is important to me. Computers and BYC have given me that. But a lot of the folks on here are just the right kind of people, that really do care about others. Even though I don't know most of their real names or where they live etc. I count them as true friends.
BYC friends are the best![]()
