The Old Folks Home

I switched to Frontline spray last year after failing with multiple applications of ivermectin pour on and the poultry dust in their sandbox. It knocked the mites back, but didn't get rid of all of them even when applying every 10 days for 4 applications. With the Frontline the mites are gone within 48 hours. Reapply once after 28 days. I still add the poultry dust to their sandbox along with stove ashes. Seems like now that the wild birds are back this spring we got mites again. I have only noticed them on the toms, likely because they don't dustbathe. Last year we got mites thanks to a rogue guinea hen that wanted to join my flock.
I am just catching, but have to say, I love the spray over anything..sooo easy, and it works.

Amazon. It's expensive but so is my time.

Comes in a couple sizes, depending on how many birds you have. 1 spray per pound of animal.

Oh my goodness! I just go to the pet store, to the bird isle, and buy the stuff for leg mites .. for the smaller bird. Works great on my chickens! I spray around the vent, just above the oil gland, thighs, under the wings, back of neck, front of neck. Done. Easy peasy.

Ahh, that may be the reason ey? A small back yard flock..but more than I should have.
