I wonder how many remember non-electric "manual" carriage returns. Some days I feel old as dirt. <sigh> Right up there with ya deb. Have as happy a Birthday as you can manage.

I remember the "carriage return". Learned to type on a manual, then used a fast electric. Then so many years of no typing, then computers - the nightmare computers. touch the wrong key and weird things can and do happen. Or, touch the correct key and wonderous things can happen. The very best thing about typing on a computer is not having to start a new paper page when you make a typo - mistake gone, correction in place. What a time (and paper) saver!!! Now if I just knew what key produced those rows of i's that Deb so graciously removed??? Thank you Deb. I have searched the entire beast and haven't a clue - so I am living in one big paragraph, I was taught better. (grump)

At 73 I believe I am amoung the oldest here. Birthdays fly by with no more attention than any other day. It is those odd moments of realization that smack me in the face. Or seeing a friend when she has not "put herself together" and is showing her age.

So far I have not hit a number that has set me back. I hit 50 next year so maybe then? I have never wanted to go backwards in age if it meant trading what I have learned. I would much rather have the wisdom I have earned through my youthful stupidity than my youth back. So far I have enjoyed each stage of my life and each one is a little better than the last so I don't mind getting older. It's nothing but a number and we are all born with a finite number of years so why not enjoy them all?
