I really don't know what happens over here during incubation but I always have lopsided hatches. I hatched 5 ducklings originally, 4 were boys. I hatched 6 olandsk dwarfs - 5 were boys. My neighbor hatched a dozen of my eggs - all 10 that hatched were boys. Seems like the earlier I hatch in the year the more girls I get and the later in the season the more boys I get but that's not always the case as this group was later in the year (but still abnormally cold). I am really thinking it has to do with temperature. I was hoping one of the "big boys" that chicka sent me eggs to would be a boy so I could hatch some deliciously large birds but looks like they'll just have to be the female contribution. After my rooster purge a few weeks ago we only have legbars, a leghorn, some smallish unidentifiable birds and a really gigantic but slow to meat out jubilee sussex.

Happy Father's Day to all the fathers on TOFH! Hope you got to at least talk to your kids today.
Been busy this weekend sewing mostly. I got this blanket done for one of the guys I work with. He had a little girl on Wednesday and she was born at 28 weeks. So far she is doing well all things considered. I hope she keeps doing well.

SCG and I are also working on a summer table runner. We worked "together" on the same pattern today. We got about this far before we had to go back to our regularly scheduled lives.


I also started another baby blanket. This one is for my hairdresser. She is having a little boy in October. I have a couple others planned but I am waiting for the fabric panels to come in first

Some friends of mine had a 20 week baby this spring... 2 pounds 11 ounces and was dead for about 20 minutes at one point.

Super frightening stuff.... But supposedly newborns can do just fine, no mental deficits even after having been dead for forever...

Baby is now up to over 4 pounds.... Probably one more month in the hospital.... One crazy roller coaster ride.
