The Old Folks Home

Chicka, can I tell you those are some of the smartest birds I've ever had? The turkeys have been out in their hoop house for a little over a week when they figured out roosting on their own. The chickens were moved into the big girl coop into a cage for a week, first, to get them used to everyone. Now that they're let out they return to the coop every night without my interference, and they even figured out how to get in the pop door to get food without me having to open the people door up. To put this in perspective for you - I still have a few 3 year old hens that can't figure out what the pop door is for.
They are very smart and such a joy. I am so happy that you are enjoying them.

My young turkey just got moved into a larger run with a coop and roost's. I thought I would have to teach them to go into the coop at night but they just did it on their own here to.

I have broody's everywhere. Such a joy!
