The Old Folks Home

Well, Old Folks, I did something this afternoon that I haven't done in a long time.

I was headed home from work and noticed my neighbors in their hay field, bringing in baled hay from the field. They are both retired and I would guess in their mid to upper 60's. It was just him throwing hay and her driving the truck. I honked the horn at them as I went by, but by the time I had driven the mile or so home, I knew I had to help. I found that only one of my three sons was home and I told him what "Mr. Tommy and Ms. Ruby" were doing and asked him what he thought. He said he thought he should go help them. Good boy. We went back and it only took us an hour to get all the bales in the field on the trailer. It was a small field, and only about 100 bales and Mr. Tommy had baled them light, thankfully.

I actually did better than I thought I would, but I may pay for it tomorrow.

Karma is a good thing....as you'll find out.

The heat here is getting to all the birds I had to try to cool them off a bit.
Wisher, bravo on raising your children right. I'll have to get that thing done for him this weekend. I've been such a slacker on it. Certainly not hot here, won't even hit 70 today.
Chickadoodles, LOVELY chicken runs! They look big and roomy! :love SCG... Cool here too....... Fall has set in and I never got around to painting my bantam coop. @drumstick diva talking about :love I thought if you all night last night!! I was sleeping in your cow shirt. It is a tiny bit small on me... But the kids didn't want it since it is clearly a girl cow. I wasn't about to explain that..... -censored thought- achem.... I like sleeping in it. :D

Oh Alaskan, not sure if I should be flattered or call the pervert squad cops. I was wondering how you got into my shirt which is hanging in the closet. Then realized - yah you got the smaller one. You must be fairly petite for your gender. I am very short and stout, and it was too tight on me especially since it was women's sizing. I didn't realize when I ordered they also had it in men's sizes (what?). I generally order unisex or men's sizes because I do NOT have an hourglass figure - I am more like a stubby baking potato (Idaho russet of course).

Wish you would put up a photo of you wearing the shirt. You could have a bag over your head (for privacy issues) or just crop your head out of the photo. I didn't think your sons would wear it but, maybe your wife.

Our annual world naked bike ride is tonight.

Speaking of bike riding, August 29 will be our moonlight ramble. Worlds oldest and largest nighttime bicycle ride.
http://moonlightramble.com/
In October 1964, Dick Leary, a ride leader for the Ozark Area Council of American Youth Hostels (the forerunner of Gateway Council, HI-USA), organized an urban nighttime bicycle ride, starting at midnight at St. Louis Union Station. Unfortunately, no one else showed up, so Dick was the sole participant in the first Moonlight Ramble. He tried again the next year and a few more people showed up. Even more came the following year and by the early 1970s the ride was drawing thousands of participants. Since this was a leisurely ride rather than a race, it had broad appeal. It was known early as the ‘Midnight Ramble’ but has been the ‘Moonlight Ramble’ since the 1970s.

I thought about going for the Most Hairy but then decided to trim my beard.

I've been on that Moonlight Ramble many times. The first time was back in 1975.

I've never done the ride going on tonight. I might just go for the after party. The timing would have me away from home at dusk for lockup time.
