I'm about to "toss" my grains reading about sautéed kale, etc.

I'm especially crabby since I had a molar pulled (had been crowned and had a cavity in it etc.) - the novacaine has worn off, it's still bleeding or maybe you would just call it seepage but, it is using up the few guaze pads they gave. In fact I have wrung them out and used again.

The bus dispatcher would not let me go to Target to pick up the prescription the dentist sent in. They said I could only go there on Monday. It IS Monday but unfortunately I was at the dentist instead. She would NOT let me run in just for the prescription - fearing I might wander into another store and break the rules. Sheesh!
People cannot accept that I have no neighbor or friend that would take me to get my amoxicillin. Which is why I take the senior bus.

. I've been riding the bus over 8 years , On occasion ,maybe twice, I have seen the bus take someone (ON THE WRONG DAY) to get a prescription that was ready for them, and run right out, proving they didn't do any" illegal shopping or browsing." If I remind her of that- she hangs up.

The world is getting crazier by the moment, I'm sure the only sane people are the ones on BYC.

MSN had an article today about food myths. Someone tested green leafy vegetables and kale was not in the top ten. Romaine lettuce was though. Romaine is one of my favorites too.

Call around to your local, independent pharmacies. Many of them will have delivery service. Tell them where your prescription currently is, and that you want it transferred to the store that will deliver to you. Do not wait a week to pick up the amox. As much as I hate them, CVS might also deliver in your area. Call the independents first.

LOL.... Jogging for me is Like two steps of baby Huey... then its Dirt Sky Dirt Sky Dirt sky... as I roll down the hill. Not built for running never was. But I love love love walking. I am still too heavy right now for much. But my absolute favorite was walking with my goats.... OMG the places we went... I even climbed a couple of boulders in the process... I have to get down to three hundred pounds to be able to do that again.

We can do it at the same time... For what its worth Weight watchers was initially developed from the type two Diabetes dietary check list back in the seventies. or some time around there... its much different now... When My son was put on Metformin it aided or reinforced his weight loss program.... I believe type two is from insulin resistance... someone correct me if i am wrong. Meaning you been putting out so much insulin for so long that your body has become resistant to it.

Low carb Not NO carb but lowering your carbs helps it alot.... That was what my son was doing. He lost eighty pounds in a year.

Yep on the Metformin!!! I'm hoping it will cancel out the other drugs that cause weight gain. (Actually, simplest explanation is T2 is you don't produce enough insulin, T1 you don't produce any)
My Onc confirmed today that, at least in my case, after seeing the crazy graph of my blood glucose levels, my suspicions that it is indeed another lovely "gift" of the TKI's was correct. What they have recently verified is that long term exposure to this oral form of chemo therapy eventually begins to interfere with normal function of the part of the pancreas that produces insulin the same way that the other more "radical" forms of chemo do, it's just slower. Fortunately for me, tho irreversible of course, the damage at this point appears minimal and I may qualify for a clinical trial where I would stop taking the TKI's which would slow the progression of the T2 to the point I might never live long enough to reach the point where I would need to go on insulin!!!
BTW-don't know if it was me or because I started the Metformin but my BG numbers dropped another 11 points since I started the drug July 6, for a total drop of 81 points since mid April

Great advice! Wow Diva, I can't believe that. Someone has seriously lost track of what the mission and purpose of the senior transport is in the first place.
